2.5. Methods of operation and auxiliary systems

Start and switching off of the engine, start of motion

Preparation for a trip on the car

Before getting into the car make sure that its glasses, a mirror and light devices pure. Check a condition of wheels, glance under the car and make sure of lack of leak of liquids.

Check according to the schedule of maintenance levels of working liquids of the engine (motive oil, the cooling and brake liquids), and also liquid level for washing of glasses (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).

Having settled down in the car, execute the following operations:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Close and lock all doors; Adjust the provision of a seat (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS)) and rear-view mirrors; Make sure of operability of external lighting fixtures; Check operation of devices; At inclusion of ignition check serviceability To/L, the devices located in a combination; Fasten a seat belt and remind of it to the available passengers; Release the parking brake and make sure that corresponding To/L went out.

Start and switching off of the engine

For a start make sure that the parking brake is completely cocked, and all auxiliary systems are switched off.

On models with AT move the lever of the selector of the AT modes to situation "P" or "N" and squeeze out a brake pedal. On models with RKPP squeeze out a coupling pedal.

Turn the ignition key in situation "START" and release it immediately – the starter will work so far the engine will not be started then the starter will be switched off automatically. At the included starter do not press the accelerator pedal, except those cases when the engine is started hardly at very low or very high temperature, and also in the summer, at launch of the heated-up engine within half an hour after its switching off. At an insufficient charge of the rechargeable battery process of start does not begin, or can be interrupted, in this case use the auxiliary rechargeable battery.

Before a start of motion let's the engine work much more on single turns (at least, 30 c). Until the engine got warm, avoid its work on high turns and under big loading, especially in a frost.

After long high load of the engine it is not necessary to switch off it at once, let's it at first several minutes work on single turns to avoid sharp difference of temperatures in various zones of the engine. For switching off of the engine turn a key in the ignition lock in situation "1" or "0".
