2.1.1. Keys, uniform lock and DU panel

Keys, uniform lock and DU panel

It is not necessary to leave children unguarded in the car if in it there are keys, especially if the key is inserted into the ignition lock. Children are accustomed to imitate adults and can lock doors from within, include ignition or start the engine. It can lead to injuries of children when using, for example, of power windows or to road accident if the car begins to move.

The main key approaches all locks of the car. The remote control (DU) by the uniform lock and the immobilizator chip is built in a head of each main key (see the Section Anticreeping system).

In order to avoid damage of the electronic elements located in a key head do not subject to its influence strong mechanical loadings (deformations, blows), high temperatures and moisture.

The spare key should be stored in the reliable place and to use only in case of need (for example, at loss of the main key). This key does not suit locks of a trunk lid and ware box. For receiving a new additional key address the representative of the BMW company.

The key from locks of doors and ignition does not suit locks of a trunk lid and ware box. This key is intended, for example, for transfer to the door-keeper.

DU panel

For operation of the DU panel the accumulator which is recharged when the key is in the ignition lock (at the included ignition) is used.

Follows periodically (once a year) to recharge the accumulator in not used usually main key.

The DU panel is intended for activation/deactivation of the uniform lock, being outside of the car; besides, the DU panel provides 3 additional functions, possible only at its use:

  • Inclusion of internal lighting and illumination of external handles of doors (for example, for search of the car on the dark parking);
  • Opening of a cover of the luggage compartment, irrespective of whether it was locked before;
  • Inclusion/switching off of the panic mode of the anticreeping alarm system for drawing attention to the car.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For inclusion of internal lighting and illumination of external handles of doors at the activated uniform lock press the average button (2) on the DU panel.
  2. For opening of a cover of the luggage compartment by means of the DU panel press the top button (3).
  3. For inclusion of the panic mode press the top button (3) of the DU panel and hold it within 2-5 seconds. The mode panic is switched off by pressing the lower button (1).
  4. For switching off of sensors of a list and the movement in salon after activation of the uniform lock at once press the button of locking (2) once again (see additional information on anticreeping system in the Section Anticreeping system).

Uniform lock

The uniform lock turns into a ready state to work after closing of forward doors. All doors, a cover of the luggage compartment, and also a cover of the hatch of a jellied mouth of the fuel tank can be locked/are unlocked as outside of the car (by means of the DU panel or the key inserted into the lock of a driver's door), and from within (by means of the button of the uniform lock). If at the uniform lock activated from within the car there is a road accident, doors automatically open (except those which were locked separately by means of blocking buttons) and the alarm system and internal lighting turns on.

Control of the uniform lock outside of the car

At activation/deactivation the anticreeping system outside is at the same time activated/is deactivated.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To unlock the lock of a door of the driver, insert into it a key and turn its once. Besides, it is possible to press the top button (1) on the DU panel.
  2. To unlock locks of other doors, covers of the luggage compartment and a cover of the hatch of a jellied mouth of the fuel tank, turn a key or press the top knopa of the DU panel once again.

When unlocking the deputy of a door internal illumination and illumination of the external handle of a door joins.

  1. For convenience it is also possible to open/close windows of doors and turn the top hatch by means of the uniform lock at the closed door and hold a key in situation according to unlocking/locking. From the DU panel it is only possible to open windows of doors and – hold the top hatch pressed the top button of the panel.

You watch that during closing of glasses and a cover of the top hatch they were not jammed.

  1. At refusal э / the drive of the lock of a door it can be unlocked/locked, turn a key in the corresponding direction against the stop.

Control of the uniform lock from within the car

At activation of the uniform lock from within the car the cover of the hatch of a jellied mouth is not locked and the anticreeping system is not activated.

The button of control of the uniform lock from within the car is located on the central console between seats (No. 6).

If for access to the car only the lock of a driver's door opened, then when pressing this button:

  • At an open door of the driver locks of all other doors, covers of the luggage compartment and a cover of the hatch of a jellied mouth of the fuel tank open;
  • At the closed driver's door it is locked.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For opening of any door from within or deactivate the uniform lock the corresponding button (No. 6) and pull the handle over an armrest of the corresponding door, or pull the handle over an armrest of the corresponding door twice (at first the lock opens, then the door opens).

The doors locked outside can be opened, at first having deactivated the uniform lock, and then having twice pulled the handle over an armrest.

  1. To lock any door or activate the uniform lock the corresponding button, or press the button locking on the corresponding door.

The button of locking of a driver's door cannot be pressed until the door is closed.

Doors which were locked separately by means of locking buttons do not open automatically at road accident.
