13.1.3. Removal, installation and adjustment of a cowl, replacement of its racks

Removal and installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Separate the socket of an electrical wiring of heating of nozzles of windscreen washers and illumination of podkapotny space. Lead round a cowl loop) to avoid its adjustment after installation. Turn out a bolt (1) and weaken the screw (2). Remove a cowl. Installation is made upside-down. If a cowl aluminum (point openings on its side end face to it), surely replace the damaged laying between a loop and a cowl. Check a box of airinflows at the left and on the right, having made a contact print (for example, by means of paste for mounting). Consolidation of a cowl has to be faultless, otherwise water and the fulfilled gases can get into interior of the car. Installation is made upside-down, combine the contour put at removal on a cowl with edges of loops. A new cowl, or a cowl without adjusting tags, it is necessary to adjust as it is described below.

Adjustment

Sizes of gaps are specified in Specifications of the Head Kuzov.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Adjust the persistent screw (1) of a loop by the size A = 16 ± 1 mm on the right and at the left. Damage of the buffer (2) of the persistent screw is not allowed. If necessary replace a loop. Adjust a cable by means of the adjusting coupling so that it did not sag, but also was not too tense. The cover of a cable has to be in the directing lock plug completely. Otherwise, if to pull for the handle of unlocking of a cowl, the cable will slip in the plug, and the lock will not open. If necessary adjust the cable course. Turn buffers of persistent screws without pushers back. If buffers with pushers are installed, press pushers into buffers and slightly turn them in this situation the cross screw-driver to the left. At the same time pushers will be blocked in buffers of persistent screws. Weaken screws (1 and 2 on an illustration) loops at the left and on the right. Do not allow damage of laying between a loop and a cowl, if necessary replace laying. If the range of adjustment is insufficient, then it is possible to weaken bolts of fastening of a loop to a body and to shift a loop. Adjust the provision of a cowl so that the gap between wings and its side end faces was identical on width on all length of a cowl. Besides, the gap between a cowl and forward wings about headlights has to be uniform. The tolerance – 1 mm, i.e. a cowl can be displaced from forward wings no more back, than on 1 mm. About a windshield the cowl has to pass into wings smoothly. Tighten the weakened bolts. For adjustment of height of a cowl (on loops) carefully close it and to measure height of installation of a cowl on a piece (In). The size (A) from the corresponding outer edge of a wing (from a headlight or from a windshield) = 200 mm. The cowl on a piece (B) has to be flush with forward wings. The tolerance – 1 mm, i.e. a cowl can be below wings no more, than on 1 mm. Measure height of installation of a cowl of rather forward wings about a windshield. The cowl has to be 3 mm lower than forward wings. The tolerance – 1 mm, i.e. a cowl on this piece can be located below wings no more than on 4 mm. It is reached by the correct installation of a gap between a cowl and forward wings on a piece (B). Determine height of installation of a cowl on a piece (B), measure the size of a deviation and open a cowl. To record a cowl. Turn out bolts (1 and 2) and to enclose or, on the contrary, remove necessary number of laying depending on deviation size. Serially tighten the weakened bolts at the left and on the right. Close a cowl, check height and, if necessary, make repeated adjustment. For adjustment of height of a cowl carefully to a zakroyka a cowl also determine its height (by locks), – the cowl and forward wings about headlights have to be at one height. The tolerance – 1 mm, i.e. a cowl can be below wings no more, than on 1 mm. Measure deviation size. Open a cowl, turn out a bolt (1) and remove the drummer (2) locks. Turn the regulator before alignment of a deviation (work is performed at the left and on the right). Again establish a clamp, close a cowl, check its height about headlights and, if necessary, modify it. Measure distance on which the forward edge of a cowl addresses the top edge of the lens of a headlight and, if necessary, adjust this distance. To turn out buffers (see an illustration) so that the cowl densely adjoined to them. On buffers with pushers slightly turn pushers the cross screw-driver to the right, – at the same time buffers will be unblocked and will start up. For adjustment of a ledge give nuts (1), weaken adjusting nuts (3) and shift headlights in the corresponding direction. Headlights have to be established without tightness. If necessary to rearrange the lower adjusting screws (2). After that adjust a tilt angle of headlights (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). Check a box of airinflows at the left and on the right, having made a contact print (for example, by means of paste for mounting). Consolidation of a cowl has to be faultless, otherwise water and the fulfilled gases can get into interior of the car.

Removal and installation of racks

In view of danger of traumatizing when performing the following operations it is necessary to prop up a cowl the corresponding devices or to ask the assistant to support him.

Open a cowl. Shift the fixing spring up to the end drains (arrow 1). Disconnect the gas-filled shock-absorber from a spherical head (arrow 2). Installation is made upside-down.
