4.4.5. Removal and installation of covers of a chain of GRM

Left cover

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Uncover the left head of cylinders (see the Section Petrol M60/1 and M60/2 engines). Remove the fan drive coupling with a krylchatka (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating, ventilation and conditioning). If necessary disconnect tubes of supply of additional air. Disconnect the EVAP valve from the left top cover of a chain of GRM. Remove from a cover of GRM and take aside a positive wire from the rechargeable battery. Turn out bolts of fastening and uncover GRM chain. Installation is made upside-down. Pay attention to position of the aligning plugs, use new laying. When fastening a cover of a chain of GRM at first tighten by hand horizontal bolts, then tighten with the required effort and in two approaches vertical, and only after that finally tighten.

Right cover

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Uncover the right head of cylinders (see the Section Petrol M60/1 and M60/2 engines). Remove a plunger of a natyazhitel of a chain and, if necessary, a tube of supply of additional air. Remove the CKP sensor and turn out the top bolt of fastening of a guide of the probe of level of motive oil (see an illustration). Turn out bolts of fastening and uncover GRM chain. Installation is made upside-down. Pay attention to position of the aligning plugs, use new laying and sealing rings. When fastening a cover of a chain of GRM at first tighten by hand horizontal bolts, then tighten with the required effort and in two approaches vertical, and only after that finally tighten.

Lower cover

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Remove the engine (see the Section Removal and installation of the engine). Remove both heads of cylinders (see the Section Removal and installation of a head of cylinders, adjustment of phases GRM). Remove the water pump together with the thermostat case (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating, ventilation and conditioning). Remove the top section of the pallet of a case of the engine (see the Section Removal and installation of the top section of the pallet of a case). Remove a nave of a damper of tortional fluctuations. Turn out bolts and uncover GRM chain. Clear the condensed surfaces of the block of cylinders of dirt and oil. Installation is made upside-down. Pay attention to position of the aligning plugs, use new laying. When fastening a cover of a chain of GRM at first tighten bolts by hand, and a totem – with the required effort in chessboard order. In conclusion cut off the acting ends of metal laying and replace a forward epiploon of a bent shaft (see the Section Replacement of Epiploons of a Bent Shaft).
