4.4. Petrol M60/1 and M60/2 engines

Removal and installation of a cover of a head of cylinders

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect a negative wire from the rechargeable battery. Remove the top casing of the engine. Remove the top cover of the air cleaner together with the MAF sensor (see the Section Replacement of the Filtering Element of the air cleaner of the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car). Remove plastic covers and ignition coils located under them. Turn out bolts of fastening and take away the left and right cable boxes to the middle. Disconnect a wire from plus contact of the rechargeable battery in a motive compartment (see illustrations Components of a motive compartment of models with the M52 engine, Components of a motive compartment of models with the M51 engine, Components of a motive compartment of models with the M62 engine). Give fixture and uncover a head of cylinders. Check a condition of laying of a cover of a head of cylinders and if necessary replace laying. Clear the condensed surfaces of the remains of laying and grease docking surfaces with Drei Bond 1209 sealant. Places of putting sealant Establish a cover of a head of cylinders, center it on several bolts then tighten bolts of fastening of a cover with the required effort in the sequence from the middle to edges.
