11.6. Adjustment of the parking brake

High-quality adjustment of the parking brake is possible only during the normal work and ease of the course of a cable of the drive of a brake and all mobile details. |
Adjustment of brake shoes
|
|
|
|
- Completely give an adjusting nut of the left cable.
|
|
|
- Completely turn out on each back wheel on one bolt of its fastening then turn a wheel so that the carving opening on the right wheel was in situation "7 hours", and on left - "5 hours".
|

|
- Tighten the adjusting screw until blocking of a wheel and turn out the adjusting screw on 8 clicks of a clamp.

Adjustment of a cable of the drive
|
|
- Completely release the parking brake.
- Tighten an adjusting nut of the left cable so that back wheels could hardly rotate.
- Evenly press 10 times a pedal of the drive of the parking brake to the sixth tooth of a ratchet.
- Record a pedal of the parking brake on the third tooth of a ratchet.
- Give an adjusting nut so that back wheels were hardly scrolled by hand.
- Check braking force: at raising on 1 tooth – the wheel has to be free (it is easily scrolled by hand), and at raising on 4 teeth – not movably (is not scrolled by hand).

Extra earnings of the mechanism of the parking brake
|

- At the movement on the certain platform or on the road with not heavy traffic press speed of 40 km/h on a pedal of the drive of the parking brake and you keep it until influence of brake effort is felt (coupling is switched off, transmission in neutral situation).
- To press a pedal of the drive of the parking brake before fixing on the following tooth of a ratchet and be passed by 200 more m.
- Repeat the actions described in paragraphs 10 and 11 once again.
