4.7.5. Replacement of epiploons of a bent shaft

For removal and installation of epiploons it is recommended to use special devices. For access to the forward epiploon established in the lower cover of a chain of GRM remove a damper of tortional fluctuations. Below the procedure of ensuring access to a back epiploon is described.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove RKPP or AT (see the Head the Manual box of gear shifting and coupling or Automatic transmission).
  2. Lower motive oil (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
  3. Remove a flywheel (see the Section Removal and installation of a flywheel).
  1. Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of a back epiploon of a bent shaft.

At installation pay attention to various ordered moments of an inhaling of bolts of M6 and M8.


  1. Carefully hook an epiploon cover at the basis two screw-drivers and remove it.
  1. Remove laying and clear the interfaced surfaces.
  2. Check a condition of the aligning plugs and if necessary replace them.
  3. Establish new laying. Apply a strip on sites of joints (width of 2 mm and 3 mm high) Drei-Bond 1209 sealant.
  4. The cover of a back epiploon is delivered complete with an epiploon. If necessary take an old epiploon from a cover and press a new epiploon.
  5. Installation is made as it should be, the return the sequence of dismantle of components.
